On the Tyne, Shipbuilding Pattison 50x70cm Limited Edition Poster. TWCMS:G4762. Original painting is held at Laing Art Gallery. The Wallsend yard of Swan Hunter and Wigham Richardson Ltd was one of the best-known UK shipbuilding yards. The tanker 'La Hacienda', built 1953, is on the left. Another ship is being built in dry dock on the right. Swan Hunter Group ended shipbuilding at the yard in 2006. Thomas William Pattison studied and later taught art at the University at Newcastle.
